Getting into the swing of things!

Now that it's summer, I am so grateful to have a break from school. If anything, I have all this extra time to seek out activities I enjoy, watch TV and explore the blogaverse out here!

I feel like I'm just starting to discover the blogging community and am so excited to see everyone's hard work. It's honestly like any other social media out there, if you have no one to follow on Twitter or Instagram it loses half of its functionality, you get bored and never go back! I've realized that with so many people commenting on everyone else's posts that their signature blog links make for a great way to explore and discover new bloggers. So if that's how you found this post, it's really great to meet you ! Believe me, I'm probably following you via Bloglovin or Google and can't wait to see the content that you upload. I've noticed that I tend to like smaller blogs more, I feel like with a smaller community and following you can actually get to know one another whereas with others youre just in 'one in thousands'!

I'm going to try to actively post a bit more these few months and am just as excited to meet more of you :) . This is more of a scrapbook, a mix of this and that. I'm going into my third year at UWO for Biomedical Sciences in Canada, and love all things food related, fashion and makeup.

Please leave a comment, I'd love to know where you are from!

  1. Ahh getting a little down time is the BEST. I can relate to you 100%, I love exploring and finding new blogs and it's crazy to me how MANY talented, creative people there are out there just waiting for me to read what they have to say! I love it. By the way, I really love your writing style, you are super clear and paint a nice visual picture. I love clearly written, interesting and fun blogs like this!!

    1. Oh I forgot to add - I am from Iceland by the way, but I grew up in England, and currently live in Denmark. I have very close relations to the US (my grandparents have lived their my whole life), so I love the states!

    2. Oh that's so interesting! My parents actually lived in Denmark for a year or two, can you understand Danish?

    3. I've lived in Denmark since I was 12 and speak Danish fluently, I think it's awesome your parents lived in Denmark! How random! Although I prefer English and consider it my mother tongue, I really love so many things about Denmark, especially their system!

    1. Thanks! It was definetly a well needed break and it was great to get it all out of my system. Haha by the end I was getting tired of bumming around the house and only being able to answer "uhm..caught up an entire season of _______TV " when asked what I had been up to that day!

Now I'm getting back into a busy routine and starting to miss it already. Thank you for stopping by!

  12. I agree with you, on the bigger blogs I feel like just a number but on the smaller ones I can really connect with the writer and get to know everyone a little bit better :)

Also, I have to agree with you about blogging being different from other social media sites. I can't explain it but there''s just something special about this community.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I can't wait to read more post from you :)

    1. Exactlyy, I feel like at a certain point it becomes too hard for the author to reply to every single post which is why it feels like you're a bit less connected. I'm so glad you took the time to reply to my question on your post earlier - exactly what I'm talking about!

  15. hi christy! i just stumbled on your blog :) i got confused at first cause it says this post was written on 1 September 2014 so i thought -- she blogs from the future! ^^ anyway just want to say welcome to the blogging world :) and that you are right, one of the best things in this community is finding blogging friends we can relate to and interact with

    1. Haha I'm so glad you did and that you left a comment (: because then I was able to see that you had one to; I went to take a look at yours and already went to follow you! It's too bad some people read and just leave the site, they leave no trace which is so unfortunate.

And haha yeah I did that because I wanted to keep this welcome closer to the top for now and thought it would be better first taste of this blog for people just stumbling here for the first time. But I feel like no one really sees any newer posts which is unfortunate. Lets keep in touch!

  21. I just stumbled across your blog while I was looking up what others bought from the Aritzia's private sale this year. I actually just finished my first year at UWO! What a small world haha :P

I really hope you're enjoying your summer, I'd love to meet you on campus!

    1. Haha what a small world! Will you be heading to check it out in store or online? I'm not sure if I'm going to have time but really wish I could since I want to try everything on :(

What are you studying? That'd be pretty cool!

      Delete
    2. I went to the store! I really wish Aritzia had a better return policy though, so I could order online and return if they don't fit :/

I'm in BMOS, hoping to keep my AEO and go into Ivey 3rd year haha :)

      Delete
    3. Haha it's funny you say this, I just posted this update yesterday: here. It's actually not so bad anymore (their return policy). So happy about that haha I spent probably at least an hour looking at everything yesterday but definitely want to go in store to try things on.

Ohh goodluck! I just got my acceptance this month :) schedule your 2257 class with friends that you can work well with for the semester long project!

      Delete
  22. I still find their return policy could be a bit more flexible, most stores allow returns on sale merchandise too. I'd probably shop at Aritzia a lot more if they were like that :D

Congrats! :) How many people are in one group for 2257?
